Member Principles
VLVT is on a mission to revolutionize how we relate to one another. We do this by providing a space where you can learn about love, connect with each other, and find & keep relationships with people who share your values, intentions and preferences. We also accomplish this mission by creating a community devoted to treating each other with honesty, truth, kindness and respect. We respect you and welcome you to the VLVT Community provided that you are honest and empathetic about what you’re looking for, and not soliciting or behaving in criminal acts.
We expect the VLVT Member to:
Be honest with dating intentions and Survey answers. Your intentions and your survey answers provide critical information for how we pair you with candidates who are VLVT Community Members on our platform. Answering honestly is paramount to this process. In engaging with The VLVT App, you promise to reflect personally and answer honestly and in good faith to all questions in the interest of your own health and happiness, and in the interest of fostering transparency and authenticity within the VLVT Community.
Be open to differing experiences. We are building a diverse and welcoming community. This means that someone’s opinion may differ from your own. We encourage VLVT Community Members to respect the opinions of others, even if you do not agree. You may also swipe left on or unmatch from individuals you do not feel a synergy, connection or chemistry with. Antagonizing people for their beliefs is misaligned with VLVT values of empathy, tolerance, kindness and love and is not tolerated or encouraged on our platform.
Understand that consent is crucial. Consent must be clearly and freely communicated. Consent can be both expressly granted and revoked. Consent can also be implied. There is an implied expectation on our platform that members will not promote physical, emotional or psychological abuse, harm, harassment, hate or discrimination. Posting content to your profile or initiating a conversation that is crude, lewd or offensive is not acceptable behavior.
Respect boundaries. VLVT Community Members should not reach out to members outside of VLVT unless those members have communicated that it is appropriate and welcome to do so. Seeing someone on the VLVT Platform is not an invitation to interact with them through social media or in person. If someone unmatched you on VLVT, the next step is to respect their choice and not find them on socials or in real life.
Be honest. VLVT Community Members do not add surnames to profiles for privacy purposes. However, you should not provide a false name, date of birth, hold duplicate accounts, or create an account if you are under 18 years of age. Deceiving others about your age or posting misleading or outdated photos is misaligned with our values of honesty, authenticity and respect, and is unfair to the VLVT Community.
Put in effort — relate with vulnerability, openness and love. VLVT Community Members are encouraged to open up to fellow members to have intimate, honest and engaging conversations. Our platform is about humanity, connection, vulnerability and real life — so our members are not afraid to put themselves out there by authentically representing who they are, their experiences, their hopes, their dreams, their preferences, their thoughts and their feelings. The more intention you put into your VLVT Profile, our weekly question prompts and your conversations with fellow VLVT Members, the better your experience will be on our platform. We understand some people are shy and take a while to open up — but being open and honest is the surest and quickest way to form the kind of connections you are dreaming about.
Seek meaningful relationships based on love. Love is not reserved solely for monogamous couples. VLVT Members understand that you can pursue a casual relationship, a sexual relationship, or any other kind of relationship with loving kindness and open-hearted intentions, too. Whatever relationship you are seeking on VLVT, it is your responsibility to ensure that said relationship is carried out in the most honest, respectful and loving manner with your fellow human. We have created a space for people to find meaning and purpose through connection — this can only happen if all VLVT Community Members act in good faith, with love in their hearts and in their every interaction with one another. We respect and honor the many forms of meaningful relationships in the world and encourage you to open up to each other about your relationship styles, preferences, and personal needs.
